The Conference
The 31st IIOA Conference, alongside the 13th edition of the International School of Input-Output Analysis will be hosted at Umar Zahir Building in Hulhumale’ in the south of North Malé Atoll, Maldives, which is part of the capital city, Male’.
The island is being built up by pumping sand from the sea floor, in order to meet the existing and future housing, industrial and commercial development demands of the Malé region and as a response to the threat posed by rising sea levels. The island is surrounded by beaches to green parks, interesting cultural attractions and various food options along with reasonably-priced accommodation, it is a great destination to the budget travelers who cannot afford the luxury resorts of the Maldives.
IIOA is proud to organize this conference in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, the Maldives Bureau of Statistics and many national organizations. It has been decades since IIOA’s last conference in South Asia, and we look particularly forward to welcoming many participants from the region, besides our global community of members and friends.
