Buddy Program

Introduction

For IIOA Conference newbies and the experienced attendee. This is an opportunity to connect new attendees with more experienced I-O researchers and experts as well as share tips and tricks on how to make the most of your IIOA Conference experience and beyond.

Background

Being at any conference for the first time can be overwhelming - you may not know anyone; you may not know which presentations are relevant for you and you may not connect the names of the people you cite with the faces of the people.

The Buddy Program aims to give you an easy start by connecting with more experienced conference participants, who can show you around and introduce you to the IIOA crowd.

This program is open to everyone new to the I-O community, not only students. Young I-O scholars, who have already been to IIOA Conferences are also encouraged to participate. Please sign up either as a newbie or if you want to be a buddy for one or two newbies :)

How to Participate

Both, newbies and more experienced researchers need to sign up prior to the 2025 IIOA Conference:

  • You will need to provide your name, email, affiliation, and most importantly, your research interests. Please register during conference registration or contact the organisers below.
  • We will contact you via email, by 30th June 2025. Please contact the organisers if you do not receive an email.
  • We will then match the newbies with experienced researchers according to their research interests, and inform you about your buddy via email, by 4th July 2025.
  • If you want, you can contact each other before the 2025 IIOA Conference.
  • We will all meet on Monday evening of the IIOA Conference, shortly before the 2025 IIOA Conference Welcome Reception, so you can meet up with your buddy.
  • Registration will be available until 6th June 2025 in the conference registration
