4.1. Via Rio de Janeiro

Those wishing to fly into the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão – Antônio Carlos Jobim - http://www.riogaleao.com/en/) can take shuttle buses, transfers, special taxis, regular taxis and regular buses for Juiz de Fora.

The International Airport of Rio de Janeiro – RIOgaleão – is served by AirFrance, Alitalia, American Airlines, Avianca, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta Airlines, Emirates, Iberia, KLM, Lan, Lufthansa, TAAG, Taca Peru, TAP, United Airlines, US Airways and others.

The majority of international flights arrive at the early morning at Rio de Janeiro, which easily allows the participants to take one of the transportations described below.

4.1.1. Shuttle buses

The local organization will provide transportation between the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão airport) and the city of Juiz de Fora, upon prior reservation and extra payment.

This service will be available on the previous and first day of the conference and on the last and one day later of the conference. Participants can hire this service directly from the local organization.

4.1.2. Transfer

Participants can also hire by themselves the transfer service between the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão) and the city of Juiz de Fora. The following companies offer this service:

These companies have Taxis, Minivans, Minibuses and regular buses; they offer reception service at the airport and bilingual service.

4.1.3. Special Taxis (Cab)

At the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão) five companies offer special taxi service in cars with more comfort than regular taxis. These companies offer the reception service at the airport and bilingual driver. More details can be obtained from the website of each company:

Participants can hire those shuttle services between the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão) and Juiz de Fora by previous schedule, which can be done through the website of each company or through the desk service of each company at the airport.

4.1.4. Regular Taxis (Cab)

Participants can also take regular taxis from the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão) to Juiz de Fora. Two companies offer this service:

• Aerotaxi.

Advantage: lower cost than special one.
Disadvantage: no reception and no bilingual service guarantee.

Cost: R$ 550.00*.

4.1.5. Regular buses (from bus station)

Participants can also take regular buses from the bus station of Rio de Janeiro (Rodoviária Novo Rio – http://www.novorio.com.br). The bus station of Rio de Janeiro is located around 15.3 km from the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro (RIOgaleão), as showed by the Google Map below:

Participants can go to the bus station of Rio de Janeiro (Rodoviária Novo Rio) by special taxis described in section 4.1.3 (Cost is around R$95.00*). They can also take the regular taxis described in section 4.1.4 (Cost is around R$ 50.00*).

The trip between bus station of Rio de Janeiro (Rodoviária Novo Rio) and bus station of Juiz de Fora takes around 4 hours. The tickets cost is around R$ 70.00*. The transport service is provided by Útil. The company provides buses every day from 6 am to 11 pm (18 buses per day with departures around each 30/60 min). Tickets can be purchased in advance on the company website (http://www.util.com.br) or directly in the desk service at the bus station (subject to availability). The company does not offer bilingual service.

Participants can take regular taxis from the bus station of Juiz de Fora to their hotel.

4.2. Via Juiz de Fora

Those wishing to fly into the Juiz de Fora Airport (Aeroporto Regional Presidente Itamar Augusto Cautieiro Franco) can rent a car, take special buses or take regular taxis.

Juiz de Fora Airport (Aeroporto Regional Presidente Itamar Augusto Cautieiro Franco) is located approximately 45 kilometers from Juiz de Fora downtown (see figure below) and it is served by Azul Linhas Aéreas (http://www.voeazul.com.br) and Gol Linhas Aéreas (http://www.voegol.com.br). Those air companies offer flights to International Airport of Viracopos and Congonhas Airport at São Paulo. From Viracopos airport, participants can take flight connections to United States and Europe.

Juiz de Fora Airport (Aeroporto Regional Presidente Itamar Augusto Cautieiro Franco)

4.2.1. Regular Taxis

Participants can take regular taxis from the Juiz de Fora Airport to their hotels.

Cost: around R$120.00*.
Travel time: around 50 minutes.

At the Juiz de Fora Airport, two companies offer buses service to bus station of Juiz de Fora:

From Juiz de Fora bus station to their hotel participants can take regular taxi.
