Course announcement IIOA conference: practical work with EXIOBASE

In the EU FP6 EXIOPOL project a consortium of TNO, CML, NTNU, RU Groningen, Wuppertal Institute, SERI, IPTS and others have built one of the most ambitious Multi-regional Supply and Use tables with Environmental Extensions globally. It concerns a global Multi-Regional EE SUT with a unique detail of 130 sectors and products, 30 emissions, 80 resources, and 43 countries plus a rest of world.

As a part of the dissemination work in EXIOPOL, Arnold Tukker (TNO) and ReinoutHeijungs (CML) will give a practical course on how to use this database on Wednesday 15 June right after the IIOA General Assembly. The program offered will be roughly as follows:

11.30-12.15: Arnold Tukker: Backgrounds on EXIOPOL and construction of the database
12.15-13.00 ReinoutHeijungs: theory of IOA analysis and use of EXIOBASE in conjunction with CMLCA, an analytical program

13.00-13.45 Lunch (at own costs)

13.45-16.30 Continuation of theory, followed by Practical exercises with EXIOBASE and CMLCA
16.30-17.00 Discussion and closure

The course will use a reduced version of EXIOBASE (3 countries and a limited number of extensions) to avoid long calculation/waiting times during the course. Participants need to have a laptop with Wifi available, since programs and databases will be made available via an external website. We limit participation to around 20 people. Participation is free of charge. Please register participation by mailing your interest.
